Abstract

In the present paper, the start of the design process of a transducer for air operation is presented. A short summary of the previous work and the challenges regarding the present project is given. Measurements of the electrical conductance and resistance for two piezoceramic disks are compared to finite element simulations. Measured source sensitivity of the element is also compared to finite element simulations, and two different matching layers are discussed. Simulations of the source sensitivity, directivity and vibrational pattern are presented, discussed and compared to the results for an element without matching layer.
