26th Scandinavian Symposium on Physical Acoustics Norlandia Ustaoset Hotell 26. January - 29. January 2003 Links Program Invitation The Norwegian Physical Society (NFS) is happy to announce this symposium which is the 26th in the series. The theme for the meeting will be as usual: Physical acoustics, with emphasis on hydroacoustics, nonlinear acoustics, ultrasound, general sound propagation and applications in technology and medicine. This invitation is sent to persons we think may be interested in attending, and we encourage further distribution to others that we have not reached in this way. Purpose The purpose of these meetings is primarily to stimulate contacts and exchange information between different Scandinavian teams working in this area. Although the symposium is Scandinavian, foreign participants are most welcome, and the meeting language will be English. As usual, we expect a rather informal tone, the main goal being to create contacts, not only during sessions, but also by social activities, indoors and outdoors (cross country and downhill skiing). The meeting normally attracts about 50 participants presenting about 25 papers during 5 sessions. Accomodation A block of rooms have been reserved at the hotel at the reduced rate of NOK 795 per day per person for a single room, and NOK 645 per day per person in a double. This includes three meals per day. Program We plan to follow the same schedule as for earlier meetings: Arrival on Sunday, with opening of the meeting in the evening. One morning session, and one afternoon session on Monday and Tuesday, and one morning session on Wednesday. Contributed talks of 15-25 minutes length are welcome. The final program will be distributed to the participants by the beginning of January 2003. Please post this invitation, to inform your colleagues. Registration Those who wish to participate are kindly requested to get in touch with the contact person as soon as possible, and no later than 20. December. Please indicate time of arrival and departure, single/double room (if double: with whom), any accompanying persons, and the title of the talk if you intend to give one. There is no registration fee, and each participant is expected to pay his/hers bill directly to the hotel at the end of the stay.
