General Information

Trondheim

Trondheim is the third largest city in Norway with a population of about 150,000. Located on the coast it enjoys a temperate climate thanks to the Gulf Stream. Trondheim can be reached by train, boat and there are more than 20 planes every day to and from Oslo, only 40 minutes away. In June you will experience the magnificent summer nights when it is never really dark, the days are only separated by a couple of hours of twilight.

Accommodation

The Congress organizers have made reservations at hotels of high standard within various price categories. All hotels will be within walking distance (less than 2km) of the Congress except the Scandic (3km), but this hotel can offer free parking. A bus service from the hotels will be provided. The number within each category is limited. Reservations received after May 1 1995, rooms will be allotted on the basis of availability.

For reservations, please fill in the registration form, this also includes prices and booking details. Hotel expenses are to be settled directly with the hotel upon departure. All major credit cards are accepted.

Reservations must be guaranteed by credit card. In the case of no show etc. without prior notice to the congress secretariat, you will be charged for one night. Further information will be enclosed with your letter of confirmation.

Personal invitation

If a personal invitation to attend the congress is required, please contact the congress secretariat.

Visas

If applicable, we advise you to apply for visas immediately. No visa is required for US, Canadian and most European citizens. In the summer season the visa office in Norway is extremely busy and long delays can be expected. The secretariat is not in a position to speed up the application process.

Lunches

As there are few restaurants open for regular lunch service in the vicinity of the University Campus, lunch is provided for all participants in the ICA Club. It is absolutely necessary for us to make reservations in advance. Tickets for the lunches and also for the Congress Banquet will therefore be included in the total Congress fee for participants. Lunch tickets will be available for purchase for accompanying persons.

Exhibition

An international exhibition of equipment, instrumentation, materials, and literature will be held in connection with the congress at NTH. Companies and others wishing to participate in this exhibition should contact the Exhibition Manager immediately for further details and to reserve space.
