Tehcnical Program

The congress covers all aspects within the subject of acoustics. The working languages for the congress are English, French and German. There will be no simultaneous translation services, and the papers will be presented in the language of the author's choice.

The technical program of the congress will consist of different types of sessions:

  • Distinguished Lectures
P.V. Brüel and J.L. Flanagan have accepted invitations to present plenary distinguished lectures on the opening day of the congress.
    Keynote Presentations
A number of keynote lectures, each lasting 45 minutes, will be given each morning by distinguished invited speakers.
    Structured Sessions
These sessions will focus on well-defined themes. They will consist of invited review or tutorial papers, research papers, workshops, panel discussions, posters, demonstrations or a combination of these formats; presenting the latest progress in research. They will be organized and lead by an expert in that particular field. The presentations will take place in multiple parallel sessions.
    Sessions of Contributed Papers
These sessions will be arranged in connection with the Structured Sessions on the same subjects. The papers will be presented orally followed by a brief discussion, for a total period of 20 minutes per paper.
    Poster Sessions
The poster sessions will take place in the Exhibition Area. The area set aside for posters, and the exhibition, is particularly well suited, being a glass covered area between the lecture theaters and other buildings. This is also the area where refreshments are served during coffee breaks. Each author will be given one day for presentation.
    Round Table Discussions
Round table discussions will be held by leading acousticians in the evenings at the ICA Club.
  • All papers (invited, contributed and poster presentations) will be included in the Congress Proceedings. The Proceedings are included in the normal registration fee, they will be issued to delegates at registration.
