Participant background

NTNU/SINTEF have been performing research in the general area of speech technology since 1979, and on speech recognition and synthesis since 1985. Research at NTNU also cover the areas of syntactic and semantic analysis. During this period, 10 Doctoral and around 100 Master's theses in these areas have have been produced. NTNU/SINTEF have carried out research projects within the area for the Norwegian Research Council, Telenor and Norwegian industry, and have participated in several EU projects. The NTNU departments collaborate on the internal project "Speech-based user interfaces and reasoning systems" ( TAlebaserte Brukergrensesnitt Og Resonnerende systemer - TABOR).
