Social Life

• Being father of the cutest girls Lise, Signe, and Hilde, born August 22, 2000, April 23, 2003, and May 15 2007, respectively.
• Living together with my wife Gøril Wærum. Here you can find some pictures from our wedding.
• Playing flute and piccolo in Strinda Ungdomskorps. Here you can see a picture of the band during the 17th of May (the Norwegian Constitution Day) parade year 2000 in Trondheim.
• Amateur Theatre.
• Football (spectator only). Favorite team: ROSENBORG. (Participant in Champions League each year from 1995 to 2005 (except 2003). Quarterfinalist in 1996. Winner of its group in the First Group-Match Stage in 1999 and thereby one of 16 teams to qualify for the Second Group-Match Stage.)
• Cross-country skiing, with participation in BIRKEBEINERRENNET as the height of my career. Another apex was reaching the top of Snota in Trollheimen with other people from work.
• Going to the ART EXHIBITION of Sigbjørn Rygg Haanæs (Sigbjoern Rygg Haanaes) at Galleri Stradivari.
• Organizing bachelor party for my friend (?) Erlend Nagelhus.
• Being the official photographer at two other friends' (?) bachelor parties: Trym Holter and Timo Peder Brøyn.
• Cycling in France (pictures from my summer holiday 1998).
• Experiencing life in Belgium and sending reports back home to Norwegian speaking friends and family.
• Experiencing life in Irvine, California and sending reports back home to Norwegian speaking friends and family.
• Performing "face lifts" on myself.
• This is how I looked while trying to finish my PhD thesis after my time as an ordinary student had run out.
• Member of "Skåbufraksjonen av 98" (a discussion group of old friends focusing on use and misuse of the Norwegian language) and "Astronomer mot orddeling" (a national association of astronomers (and non-astronomers) working to keep up the quality of the Norwegian language).
