We started with a barbecue by the river Vefsna on Friday night:
On Saturday morning the official photographs were taken by Bjørnar Pedersen at Vefsn Museum:
As you can see from the last picture, the transportation of the bridal couple was rather elegant (a 1952 model Mercedes-Benz 300, also called Adenauer after the West German Chancellor who used it as his limousine). While they were being driven back from Mosjøen by Steinar Daleng, people started gathering at Grane kirke (the church):
And here they come, up the church floor, led by the bridesmaids and boy. The ceremony can begin:
Afterwards there are lots of hugging and kissing and photographs to be taken before it is time to leave for the dinner:
The dinner was held at Vegset Samfunnshus (community house):
Quite a few presents had to be opened and inspected. All the different national costumes the guests were wearing also had to be looked at. Some girls preferred the top hat though. One good friend had to stay inside, since he had hurt his foot during the bridegrooms bachelor party.
Then the wedding cake was cut and coffee was served. Some good friends had written an amusing song about the bridegroom:
No wedding without a brudevals (brides waltz). Afterwards, the guests were allowed on the dance floor too:
Not everyone danced all the time:

You get hungry from having fun. At one a clock sodd (meat soup) was served:
The bridal couple now left the party to go to Fru Haugans hotell in Mosjøen:
But at samfunnshuset, the party continued into the night. Even the oldest guest, Gøril's grandmother Paula, age 87, stayed long after the bridal couple had left:
In the end, the morning broke however, and after the final breakfast at Vegset samfunnshus, the celebration was over:
